Hello,

A couple of weeks ago I started my third batch using a coopers english bitter kit. My OG reading was 0.030, two weeks later (today) the SG is 0.010.

My SG reading was 0.010 yesterday also so I think the primary fermentation has finished.

I'm not entirely sure my OG reading was correct as the light dry malt brew enhancer clumped together when I put it in and simply wouldn't stir out - I read somewhere that this can affect a gravity reading (which sounded fairly logical to me.)

So my questions are these:
1. Does that look like the right kind of OG for this kit?
2. Should I go ahead and bottle it?
3. How long is too long in primary fermentation? The kit suggests 7 to 10 days.

Thanks in advance, this forum is *really* useful :)

Well I am new also but I do know that most members here will say 4 weeks in primary. This will give the yeast time to clean up some of the off flavors that the beer mite have.

I dont know but it seems that 1.030 is a little low.

Roger
