I learned a valuable lesson.

I dry hopped an IPA and, when transferring to the bottling bucket, I used a straining bag on the end of the hose to filter out the hops. Because of the reduced flow through the bag, the priming liquid in the bucket didn't mix well and now I have a case of flat beer and a case of beer that pours a 6 in head.

Next time, I'll be sure to stir the beer before bottling.

I did the same thing with my Pomegranate Wit. I used a fine mesh bag on the end of the siphon hose to keep the Pomegranate floatys from getting into the bottling bucket.

I am wondering why some bottles are just plain out flat, while others explode a foot out of the bottle when opened and pour a glass of head. I may have found the problem due to this thread. I will be stirring it from now on just to make sure.
