This is my forst brew It has been fermenting since Friday and I did a gravity reading yesterday "day 4" and it was @ 8.4% ABV. I hope it turns out as well as it looks and smells

How Long are you going to primary it? I want to do a porter but cant dedicate a carboy for the long time needed to get the flavors right. Cheers

Yes a blow was used for the second third and forth day and now I'm back to a air lock. It was a very active fermentation. And I'm planning on leaving it 3 weeks in the primary and then putting it in a secondary for 2-3 months before I bottle it. It is my first and I want it to turn out as good as it smells
