Im going to dry hop an American Pale Ale with Chinook,Cascade & Simcoe. Should I use

I prefer simple PA's, so depending on what your base beer tastes like (showcase malty) I would only do 1 or 2 hops. If you don't mind more complexity then the 1 oz each sounds fine.
 
FWIW, I usually dry hop with 2 oz. or less. But I'm not a big hop head ;). So with 3 hop varieties, I'd use between 1/2 and 3/4 oz. each.
 
If you like something like Sierra Nevada, you can get away with no dry hopping and bigger late additions. If you want your beer to be more malt forward, I'd only use 1 oz total. If you're a hop head, then by all means use 1 oz of each. Remember, you're making the beer for you so do whatever pleases your palate.

For instance I'm making a hop forward APA with a 1:1 BU:GU ratio in a couple weekends that's has about 2.5oz dry hops and 3 oz in the boil (most of that near the end). I prefer my APAs hop forward.
 
Thanks for the info. I'm not looking to make it real hoppy, I just want to add a bit more hop flavor to an otherwise good APA. So I'll try 1/2 oz or less of each.
 
It's an APA not an IPA

I have really fallen into the camp of a huge quantity with a short contact time. For that reason, I like your first idea of 1 oz each for 5 days max.

IME, moving to the short contact time has given me all the aroma, without the "risk" of grassy flavor. I've done moderate quantities at 14 and 10 days, but I really prefer the 5 day rule.

My favorite commercial APA uses a total of 4.5 oz / 5 gallon for 5 days (split equally between Amarillo and Centennial) so do not fear the effect of 3 oz in your pale ale. I think you will love the results.
