I built a CPVC manifold for a 34 Qt cooler for (at most) $10 worth of supplies and an hour's labor.

I also picked up a gallon of Iodophor (under some other brand name, of course) at the local farm supply store for about $16.

(See, living in the heartland does have some advantages.)

That's a good price but be careful that it doesn't have lanolin (for cleaning udders)or anything else in it that you wouldn't want in your brew. Also the concentration of iodine might be different from what you're used to, so your dilution ratios might have to be adjusted.

Anybody else here sanitize SWMBO's udders?

Correct me if i'm wrong but (in my understanding)iodophor is a product and not a brand. Picking up a gallon of iodophor 'under some other brand name' may suggest you've been sold something other than an iodophor.
If you have been sold an iodophor do you know what dilution is required, different brands require a different dillutions to acheive the required 12.5-25ppm for a no rinse sanitising solution bearing in mind a solution stornger than 25ppm is actualy less effective at sanitizing.

You're right--I meant, "under a different brand name than BTF, which is what HBSs sell."

It's the same stuff--same ppm instructions.

They do also carry the ***** cleaner--you've got to make sure you're getting the right stuff. (Hmm...smearing that yellowish s--t...that is distinctly *not* hot...)
