I'm just on my 3rd batch of brew (in fermenter) but the first two were full extract brewing of which I wasn't that impressed (but it's still beer! :mug:).

Anyhow, I see some of these ingredient kits and feel a bit overwhelmed. My 2nd batch was a complete kit which really simplifies the process but when looking at the receipe for this I don't know where to start.

If I go to my LBHS should they be able to help me with all these individual items or are there kits that have all of these items in one kit?

I'm realizing that a lot of what I would like to get rid of I believe is the LME 'twang' that I read about. It's not bad but it's not good either and want to switch to DME to hopefull get rid of that. Thanks for any feedback or site I can buy such a kit from, I'd really appreciate it.

Hop Schedule:
1/2 oz Simcoe & 1/4 oz Amarillo at 45-30 minutes
3/4 oz Simcoe & 3/4 oz Amarillo at 30-15 minutes
1/2 oz Simcoe & 3/4 oz Amarillo at 15-0 minutes
1/4 oz Simcoe & 1/4 oz Amarillo at 0 minutes
1 oz Simcoe & 1 oz Amarillo dry hop
1 oz Simcoe & 1 oz Amarillo late dry hop

boiling time counts down? usually from 60 down to 0, right?

i have this in the bottle now. it will be ready in a month. I added the LME 30 minutes in to the boil in an attempt to reduce caramelizing. I think next time I'll switch to DME with the same recipe and see the difference. tasted awesome at bottling though. It's supposed to be an IPA.

I assume you're talking about the recipe in the OP's link? Then yes, your LHBS should be able to help you assemble that list of ingredients, or something close.

As far as other kits, any of the major online HBS have them, broken down by style (Austin Homebrew Supply, Midwest, Northern Brewer, MoreBeer, etc.)

Yes

Meant to mimic Bear Republic Racer 5 IPA. Intended OG 1.070, ABV 7.0%, IBU 69.
Malt note not as crisp as BR Racer 5, but the Hops are right on. This could be easily repeated closer to actual results with all grain process.

Edit: Updated to the original recipe (the recipe I originally posted with all 60 minute hop additions was the result of fiddling around with it, and forgetting to hit the cancel button)
