Turbinado is easily accessible for me here I'm the states. I haven't experienced the same thing regarding light color as @Peebee I find it is fairly dark right off the shelf and less processed with a molasses twang. It works great in my bitters.

I will venture out at some point and source Demerara and Muscovado because it's fun to experience new things.

Anyway we should hit the brakes on this one as we are on a slippery slope lol. This is Alice In Wonderland territory.

Edit: Here is a couple of pictures of the Turbinado Sugar I use. It is lighter than I remember so I'll concede that point to @Peebee lol. I enjoy it in my brews though.

I know Demerara is usually lighter than Turbinado, but they are often quoted as replacements for each other They fill the same space in supermarket shelves depending on where you live.

Both are raw, with turbinado having somewhat higher molasses content. Turbinado has slightly finer grains. Demerara is often used as a finishing sugar, e.g., a darker sugar version of pearl sugar.
