Ok, who can get me some Heady Topper. All I need is 1-2 cans and I will pay double of what you pay for it. Can someone in the VT area scoop me a couple cans of this and mail it to me? I just kegged a 5 gallon batch of HT Clone and it will be carbonating for a week or so before it's ready. I'm hoping to get a can or two of the real stuff to compare it with but it's 6 hours of driving for me to get up to Stowe, Vt. Anyone?

Yeah me too..thats why im trying to clone it as we speak..but im having problems with my water ph, chemistry

are you guys using the HT clone from the major HT clone thread on HBT? I just went up to VT to get some HT, and I'd like to clone it as well as the Focal Banger. After trying it again after a few years, it is even more resinous than I remember. Seems like it won't be a success without

- pearl malt
- the best possible, freshest ingredients
- perhaps lupulin powder, as Kimmich talks a lot about it on his tasting videos of other beers
- absolutely as little oxygen as possible hitting the beer to keep the fresh flavor
- conan yeast treated exactly the right way

Heading that way next week so if I get a couple cans if am lucky enough I'll do the trade with you

how is that clone? is it the recipe from the HBT thread?

Yes its a recipe from HBT thread it was 50 bucks at farmhouse brewing supply..First recipe i ever made with hop extract..I just brewed it a day ago so its fermenting now..it smells awesome..i will report back with some pics and tasting notes cheers

It's an 18-hour drive for me but I managed to pick some up a couple weeks ago. It's so overrated. I don't like it. I'm going to give mine away to local whalez hunters.

If I wanted to drink liquid hop pellets, I'd drink liquid hop pellets.

Cheers.

I've been debating since getting up to the Alchemist whether their beers are liquid hops or more than that. They also have a very interesting malt character, kind of like fresh cut straw (but in a good way) and signature yeast character. I AM blown away by the very rich, resinous hop character as well though. I could see someone not liking HT as much as others in that it does come off as more sweet some DIPAs. You can't deny the synergy of malt, yeast and hops though!
