My first ever batch, 18 days in. Mugged:

I cheated a bit, as I tasted some a week after bottling but it was a thin, bland, barely carbonated beverage. This is full-bodied, chocolatey, dry, toffeelike deliciousness. This is something I would happily pay money for and down pitcher after pitcher with friends at a bar all afternoon.

And I made it!!!!

It was my girlfriend's idea to brew a mild. She's from the Louisville area and is a fan of New Albanian's Community Dark. I told her that since it was her idea for me to brew this, she would have to come up with the name.

She likes to procrastinate.

I have an IPA in secondary and a "Red" ale (accidentally miscalculated the SRM on it) in primary. I'm bottling the IPA tomorrow.

I may never have to buy beer again.

I'm with you on that. I now have 12 varieties of beer in bottles that I made and 2 fermenters going also. Most of what I brew tastes better than what I had been buying and the rest of it I will choke down anyway, since I made it.
