Finally after waiting 13 days after bottling my very first batch of home brew I cracked my first and had a sample. It is an Irish Red Ale...........I like it-SMOOTH! Now I am looking for my next kit...I am thinking a lager. Happy Holidays!
I remember my first home brew it was perfect, as I always imagined it would happen. It was a Pale Ale it ended up being very smooth, gentle, yet firm. The bitterness of the cascades hurt so good! Hahaha, honestly congrats! To more
Awesome! Welcome to this obsession. Personally, I'd say wait on the lager, though. Lagers have lots of extra complications, especially involving fermentation temperature control. Master other aspects of brewing first before adding the extra complications of lager fermentation.
My first was over too soon when it happened I was so overwhelmed with the sheer pleasure and new sensations. Before I knew it it was over ....enjoy this moment you won't get it back and it will only get better with practice.
