from a recipe I found on line. It took me forever to get all of the correct bittering herbs.

There were quite a lot of solids left when I transferred the wort to the primary. I used my stainless steel sieve and caught most, if not all of it.

Here's my question.

I needed to add two gallons to my primary to get me to 5 gallons and to also finish cooling the wort for pitching. I decided to sparge the left over cooked herbs. I just poured my water into the fermentor as I always have except this time I poured over the spent herbs left in the sieve. I know that transferring the head killing oils from the herbs is a potential problem but I plan to bottle condition before bottling.

Can anyone think of any other possible problems in my doing that?

Target OG was 1.050 and I hit 1.044 at 77 deg. Corrected OG should be about 1.047

I just racked this gruit over to a secondary and tasted it. I was very pleasantly surprised at how much like beer this tasted. It was definitely sweeter than normal ales, but other than that, with some carbonation, this is going to be a very drinkable beer.....errr....gruit.

My target FG was supposed to 1.008 and I got to 1.006. After adjusting for temp, I was almost on the button.

I was going to let this sit for another month in the carboy before bottling. I am trying to get this ready for a beer club meeting at the end of May.

Any other suggestions?
