I have what I thought was a descent computer. However, for the past month or so I have not been able to look at any thread on HBT that is over about 25 posts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

It just wont let me open the page. The page is blank. I've tried all kinds of browsers. I'm currently on Mozilla which just shows a blank screen. You cant understand how frustrating this is. I want to stab myself in the eye.:mad::mad:

sounds like a spyware related problem, cleanest fix is to reinstall windows. but you could try a spyware scanner. do you have this problem with any other sites?

sounds like a spyware-virus issue... AVG has free Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware, download and run...

clean out your cookies and browser history... might clear it up.

I'm in agreement, sounds like you've got the spywares.

Backup, fdisk, reinstall, doo dah, doo dah, backup, fdisk, reinstall, all the live long dayyy.

Unless... are you using any funky security or firewall software? Anything outside the "norm"?

Still... probably spyware. :(

In Firefox, you can go to Tools -> Clear Private Data, and from there you can singlehandedly wipe out all the cookies, cache, sessions, all of that crap, perhaps that might help for a while?

Wish I had an account to one of the online conferencing sites, e.g. WebEx.... Could get a shared screen going so I can check out what's on there.

XP / Vista?
Wireless? Wired network? Modem? Other?
How much RAM? How big's the HD, and how much is free? Defrag lately?

Send it to me for proper disposal? ;)

Nah but seriously. We can overcome this. Nerd power, activate!

I loved my work-issued laptop until it blew up Monday. Took it into the office to the IT person. Hard drive blew because a penny got in there.

Memo to self: Remind the children for the millionth time not to go near daddy's laptop. Ever. It is not his.

Fortunately, company was understanding. Unfortunately, it has to buy me a new one when we're in the middle of layoffs. :(

They should have warranties. So, so many places fail to buy warranties. Those places make me sad. Computer parts are expensive. Warranties are cheap.
