It's one thing to brew inside your own house when the authorities don't approve. It's another to brew in a house that's not yours where the authorities don't approve. That way its not only you at risk, but them too, regardless of how they may feel about it. I agree with the other posters that it's not worth it.

If the OPs story is true the its up to him to decide if he wants to brew or not. We're not the brew police, we're here to tell people how to do what they want to do when it comes to brewing. So back on topic:

OP, as someone suggested, giving the fermented beer time to settle in the fermenter will cause most of the yeast to settle out. However, as you mentioned - any slight and unintentional agitation of that vessel will stir some of it back up. That is one reason why many of us like to 'secondary' - ie, move the beer off the trub into a second vessel. Then give it some more time (a couple if days) and more will have settled. You can then transfer it to a bottling bucket and bottle it.

Note that you should always transfer it by siphoning so as to avoid oxidizing the fermented beer.

Also note that since you will be carbing the batch with priming sugar you will inevitably end up with yeast in the bottom of your bottles anyways. If you learn how to pour a bottle conditioned beer into a glass (its not difficult) then you will minimize how much yeast gets into the glass. Also, getting beer cold for a while (the longer the better) will cause the yeast to compress to the bottom and thus minimize how much gets transferred either into a bottling bucket or into a glass.

Now since you mentioned a shortage of equipment, all you need is another sanitized vessel approximately the same size as your fermenting vessel, and some sanitized tubing to siphon the beer either into the 'secondary' vessel or even into the bottles. Ideally you should have a bottling bucket and a bottling wand, but if your story is true and you really want to make beer without those gizmos, it can be done.

Filtering isn't an option with what you have at hand.

Like reporters trying to film the police at a McDonalds in Ferguson and being taken to jail as a result?

Or having a non-WASP name and simply googling where to buy a crock pot then waking up with a SWAT team kicking down your door at 2 in the morning?

Or making laws that pubs can not exist within 400 feet of a church and then making damned sure that there is a church every 400 feet?

Don't be so judgemental.

Great! now everyone is going to Google police atrocities in Finland. This could go on for days. :D

I don't think he meant the comment the way you read it.

It was an all-inclusive 'we'. I don't think it was a USA-centric comment. At least I didn't read it that way.

I sure did. Got my flag out. National anthem on the stereo. Fireworks. Firearms. Light beer. Chicks in bikinis.

It was rad.

I couldn't even show you where Finland is on the map.

OP how are you sanitizing your equipment?

Well this has been fun. But we like to keep the technical forums, like this begineers forum, on topic and away from silliness. There are other places here for those sorts of threads.

This has run its course, it seems.
