Brewing is like cooking, breaux, and all of us from South Louisiana know how to cook, right? If you can make gumbo, you can brew beer. To tell the truth, beer is easier! You don't have to start with a roux.

IF you can make a gumbo? Come on, I'm our Daddy's son, too! You KNOW I can make a gumbo. But I'm not sure how I'll handle a recipe that doesn't start with, "First you make a roux."

Welcome! I was in Nawlin's last weekend to visit my sister-in-law.

Terribly deserted neighborhoods down there. Really bad stories about the flood, etc.

It's weird. I live an hour from New Orleans, and I haven't gone yet. My son paints apartments, and he works down there a couple of days a week. His accounts of what he sees is enough for me. I was pretty encouraged, though, with some of the footage shown during the Saints game last night (GO SAINTS!!!). Progress is slow, but it's happening.

I'm relatively close to you Vince and almost back in my house after the storm(Currently staying in my 'Katrina Mansion"), but I don't let it get me down, just brew on my turkey fryer outside!

Hey Spyk'd,

I drove right past Waveland the other day. I took the family to Gulf Shores, AL for the weekend. We had a great time. It looks like a lot of the MS Gulf Coast is in heavy rebuild mode, and that's great news. I hope you get back to your real home, soon. Then you can start using that turkey fryer for turkey again!
