Hey everyone- like most I lurked here for a while after nearly all of my search engine inquiries led me to the board. It's been helpful.

I began brewing extracts in January and switched to grain in August. My first grain beer was a saison that I thought I screwed up horribly but turned out to be excellent. My "system" is a little funky and I'm not great about measurements or consistency but the beers have so far all been pretty damn good. I'm hooked. See you around.

Welcome to the forum. I know what you mean about inconsistencies in processes, temperatures, and the like. Keep it up, and start focusing on your procedure, and soon you will have your system dialed in, and your brewing will be more consistent from one batch to the next. Good Luck! Mark

Thanks guys this place is great. I'm not even sure how badly I feel the need to replicate beers, because every time I want to try something different! And I don't have a lot of drinkers- we are at nearly half capacity with the wife pregnant. sirmichael do you ever go to the rat city hb club meetings at Big Al's? I intended to check it out this weekend but I have company from out of town- gonna try! :mug:

I was actually going to check it out this week as well.

Welcome, fellow Seattle brewer. I keep meaning to get out to West Seattle for a beer one of these evenings, but I can't seem to find my passport. ;)

Haha yeah I was there- showed up about 20 minutes late and brought a "golden IPA" and a Saison I have. I spent a lot of time talking to the yeast lady.

Thanks, and you should- we have many awesome beer destinations- super deli mart, Elliott Bay, Beer Junction (most bottles in state and 16 rotating taps), beveridge place, big al's...
