Howdy from the PNW

Hey all.
I was an avid homebrewer after college (90's) and about 10 years ago all my buddies scattered and so I quit. I have been wanting to get back in to it again so I went to a FLBS a couple weeks ago and bought a starter kit. I made a cider over the weekend and next week am going to a all-grain class. Not sure i will start right off with an AG batch but probably a extract recipe with some specialty grains tossed in. I will save all grain until I can gather all the equipment. Anywho I am looking forward to interacting and learning what all has changed in my hiatus.

I am also rebooting my brewing hobby after a long hiatus, and also in the PNW (Kitsap). I've dug out some old equipment, ordered some new stuff, and started a few days ago with root beer for my kids (had none when I last brewed, have 3 now). Next up is a partial extract brew, then the all-grain batches will begin. I've been culturing yeast strains from various beers and from my local brewpub's brews in preparation. I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed this.

I got out of brewing in 1995, and started back in 2011. I don't know how it will be for you, but I felt like Rip Van Winkle - incredible changes during the time I was out of brewing. Welcome to HBT.

Welcome to the site. I was just watching a brewdogs episode last night and they were in the PNW.

I live in Kitsap as well. I went and got my gear at Olympic Brewery Supply in Bremerton and that is where they are having the all grain class this weekend (8/30).
It is amazing how much things have changed in the last 10 years, all for the better. I am pretty stoked to get back in to it.
