I've been lurking for just a little while, and am VERY impressed with the amount of information here. I've been muddling through this brewing process for the past several months, all kinds of trial and error. Fun, but at times frustrating...anyway, so glad to be part of your online community!
We live in East Texas, on our little two acres of heaven. My "brewery" is in a corner of the garage. Actually a perfect setup, as I have a double sink and cabinet space.
I've brewed probably 4 or 5 successful batches, and one complete dud...a pilsner. One other batch got contaminated and was "fruity" which I didn't like at all, and attribute to hiring my stepdaughter to wash bottles. I made the mistake of paying her "per bottle" and I'm sure appropriate care wasn't taken.
But otherwise, folks respond pretty well to my brew, and I'm looking forward to honing my craft! This site will really help!
