Hey, guys. Just picked up my kit from Austin Homebrew Supply today and am planning to start my first batch tomorrow. Going to be brewing the AHS American Amber Ale mini-mash. :mug:

Thanks, everyone. Got the first batch started and it's hanging out in a closet now fermenting away. Original gravity was a little off from the recipe, but a little research suggests that this is either caused by incomplete sugar extraction from the grains or insufficient mixing in the carboy. In either case, I'm excited to see how it turns out.

Alright, racked to secondary today. Gravity was about .006 low (measured 1.007, recipe called for 1.013). I'm thinking that fermentation may be done. We'll see.

Tasted like flat beer. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

Bottled today into 45-12 oz bottles and 2-22 oz bombers (just because I could). Final gravity was 1.007, unchanged since racking to secondary.

Tasted quite hoppy mellowing to a nice malty flavor. Excited to see what happens in a few weeks.
