hello, is there any resipees for a beer that is simular to becks or hineken. excuse my bad spelling but my computer dose not have spell check and i suck at spelling.

can't help with the recipe but I can with the spelling. switch to Firefox as your browser. It has built-in spell check. plus it's better than IE in almost every way imaginable.

Beck's isn't that hard. Neither are any of the German lagers for that matter. Beck's uses two-row malted barley, German lager yeast, water, and Hallertau hops. You could do a mini-mash with extra pale malt extract replacing part of the grain. Check with your LHBS. They can set you up with a kit. Keep in mind that you are talking about a lager. You need a way to cold ferment and then the beer will need to age for six months or so.

I have a recipe if you brew all grain and can do lager fermentations.

Five Gallon Bremen Lager

8 lbs German pils malt
1 lb flaked barley
.25 lb CaraHell
Mash 148F for 60 minutes, mashout @ 168F 15 minutes; Alternate decoction mash: 128F for 20 minutes, 148F for 60 minutes, 168F for 15 minutes

1.25 oz Hallertauer Hersbrucker 4.5%AA @ 60 min
.5 oz Hallertauer Hersbrucker 4.5%AA @ 30 min
.25 oz Hallertauer Hersbrucker 4.5%AA @ 5 min

Wyeast 2042 Danish Lager Yeast;Primary & secondary for approximately 10 days each @ 54F, lager 3-5 weeks @ 33-39F

Estimated OG 1.048, IBU 35

Just do a kolsch and throw some skunk anus in it. Seriously, Becks is a lager, as stated above, you will need to have some good fermentation control in order to brew this type of beer (and some skunk anus)!

Skunk Anus . . . Look who's the ANUS  . . . Drink a SNPA :cross:

Just because he has a hard time spelling does NOT mean he doesn't have an old fridge and a $50 temp controller.

Great info from Stormrider51 and BigEd. . . :mug:

Brew what you like ;) . . . Its all about what YOU want to put YOUR hard earned MONEY into . . . Some are here to belittle people for whatever reason . . .:drunk:
Don't get sucked into buying sh!t beer and drinkin it every couple every couple days so you fool yourself into thinking your making a great beer at home.
Pretty much . . . . Dont FORCE your self to drink dirt water flavored with pine cones and tree bark . . .

DAVE88 . . . GOOD Luck on your Quest for a better tasting BEER . . . Find people with similar tastes and get accustomed to the IBU ratings chart and be prepaired or the long haul.:mug:

PS . . . ROLL TIDE :rockin: . . .
