nothing, and i mean nothing beat a person from the east coast asking how to get to ..... " juan de fuca " :rockin:

Here is how I pronounce some terms in brewing. Don't know if I am right...but I am from the East Coast so I got that as an excuse.

Willamette - Will-Am-It
Fuggles - Fugg-Ulls
Saaz - Satz
Hallertau - Hal-Er-Tou
Chinook - Shinook
Trub - Troob
Autolysis - Auto-lie-sis or Auto-liss-is (heard it both ways)
Brettonomyces - Brett or Brett-On-Oh-My-Sees
Saccharomyces Cerevisiae - Yeast or Sack-Row-My-Sees Sara-Vis-See-Aye

Autolysis - Uh TOL uh sis - or maybe Awe TOL uh sis

Salmon - SAM uhn

(former worshingtonian...) :D - never heard anyone say it that way except the rednecks down here...

Live in Warren County and everyone here thinks we are in RedNeck Nation. That is a "whole nother" topic... yup yup.

There was a great commercial about 15 years ago for a local TV show introducing a new news person moving in from back east. It had him and one of the locals at a restaurant and the local is grilling the new guy on pronounciations of local places. Puyallup... Mulilteo... Kalaloch...

He says every one of them perfectly and the local is proud, then the waiter comes to take their order.

He orders the "gee-oh-duck chowder" and she asks for the "la-sag-nee"

Read the whole post. There is no 'Williamette' hop. It's spelled Willamette, no second 'i'.;)

How about you read the whole post. The OP does not mention anywhere in the original post the word HOP, nor does he allude to it.
He asked how to pronounce Williamette.

The hop, the valley and the river... all with one "I".

The state-> Ore-uh-gun

And when we're not drinking damn good craft beer, it's "pop" all the way!
