And another pound here, this time Burman's 'Colombian BCT Premium Huila Timana'. I like that Burman is just around the corner in Madison.
Three batches in the SR500; two of them I turned off (=switched to cooling) just as second crack began, the third one I ran a bit longer, 11 minutes or so. I think I'm slowly moving to lighter roasts, with no oil at all on the surface.
499.30 + 1 = 500.3 pounds.

Roasted 1.5 pounds of Brazilian beans, 0.75 pounds of Ethiopian beans and 1 pound of Cuban beans this past weekend.

501.8 + 3.25 = 505.05

I bought a 5 pound bag of Cuban beans when I was in Toronto last year before the pandemic and slowly roast a little bit here and there. It’s good, nothing mind blowing or anything. It has a good body with a nutty and woody character to it.
Yeah the Finger Lakes region of NY is nice. I’m closer to the Canadian border than NYC, which surprises a lot of people.

Looking at roasting 20+ pounds a little later today!!! Got the parts, old parts removed, new installed, and a test preheat done yesterday. True test will be this run!

Roasted 1.5 pounds of Mexican beans yesterday.

689.24 + 1.5 = 690.74

Had to tweak the fan once cause it was rubbing on the backside, but only after it was thoroughly heated, so not too bad. Overall the repair was quick. 11,772 grams is what I ended up roasting. That comes out to be 25.95 pounds.
That gives us a total of 716.69 pounds.
