How many kegs do people carb and serve with a 10 lb tank?

That's just dispensing though... What about carbing and dispensing?

In my above post, I put a note that the information in the link is just dispensing. For both force carbing as well as serving, you use roughly 1/2lb of co2 per corny. So, as the OP asked about their 10lb tank, that would force carb and serve roughly 20 kegs. There are variables that will cause that number to fluctuate, but that should get you in the ball park.

Typically, I've seen way lower numbers than 1/2lb, but that is because I've had leaks and inefficiencies with my personal system. I believe those numbers are closer to a dialed in system with no leaks or issues.

I typically get 10-12 kegs per 10lb cylinder.

Be aware that you'll most likely use your C02 tank for more than just carbing and dispensing. I also use mine to purge the air from kegs prior to racking, to push beer from one keg to another, and to occasionally push beer from kegs into bottles.

That being said, my 20# tank lasted for just about 1-year (25 to 30 corny kegs worth of beer plus these other things that I mentioned.)

Can anyone give me a definitive yes or no about using priming sugar to carb kegs? I understand the first beer will be yeasty. That said I can't find anything set in stone on this.

Yes, you can use priming sugar to carb kegs naturally. Takes less than bottling and about the same time to carb (2-3 Weeks)
