Just dropped our first Apfelwein batch into primary. Three gallons total, two of which were Treetop, the remaining one gallon Simply Apple. Used Lalvin EC-1118 yeast:

13,306 + 3 = 13,309

Made a Costco run today.

13,309 + 16 = 13,325

Still making it the same way as in post #1

I'm starting to age it in corny kegs at room temp after a minimum of 2 months in the carboy.

I'm new here but been reading and waiting while my Apfelwine brewed (all 500+ pages of the Apfelwine thread).

So +5 = 13,401.2

finally 5gal more from me... also reading my way through the apfelwein thread. 450 pages down...

5 + 13401.2 = 13406.2

AAAAHHHHHH!!!

The fraggin decimal is back.

Someone needs to make a .8 batch so we can get rid of that little bastard!

Considering I made a batch, but could only use all but .2 gallons, that works out!

13406.2 + 4.8 = 13411

we're back in business!

Put me down for 5.

13,421 + 5 = 13,426

I just bought another 5 gal carboy to put down mine tomorrow!

SWMBO decreed that it must be so... :mug:

13,426 + 5 = 13,431

That's 143,264 12 oz. servings!

Just think, if the average batch ingredients cost roughly $20 that mean that HBTers have spent almost $54,000.oo on Apfelwein!
