I brewed my first batch on Saturday with a friend who's been doing it for about a year. It was a blast!

On Sunday about 24 hours the air lock was releasing CO2 like crazy and that lasted all through Monday. Tuesday it has stopped. My temp levels have been around 66 the entire time. Should it still be releasing CO2?

I'm leaving it in my primary for a full 3 weeks until I bottle but is there something I should be doing until then?

Yeah, drinking a beer while you wait!

In my experience, the most vigorous part of the fermentation can last anywhere from 1 to 5 days depending on the style, so don't worry if it slows down after a day or two. What kind of beer are you making?

Greetings neighbor!:D

Nope. Just leave it alone and let the yeast do their thing.

No worries. They're all a bit different. What you observed was pretty typical.

How close are you to Tyler?

Sorry. I meant to put that in there. It's a Nut Brown Ale. It's my first batch ever so I'm hoping it turns out great!

You probably already know this, but you have a LHBS in Longview on Gilmer Road just past Harbor Frieght (opposite side of the road). Have you been by there?

Yes! That's where I got my kit and my first brew kit as well from. Ty is a great guy!

Cool. I really enjoy visiting with Ty when I can get over there. I probably won't be seeing him that much anymore since Tyler is due to get its very own LHBS (our first ever!) in a few weeks.:rockin:
