A few weeks ago I ordered a few kits from Midwest Supplies that come with grains that need to be steeped before adding the malt extract. I hadn't really thought about it at the time but how long will those grains stay fresh or until they go bad. One kit seems much more suited for the fall so I was going to wait until late summer before brewing it, but will the grains be no good by then?

Thanks for the help guys.

Just keep them in the sealed bag in a cool dark place but be sure you keep the yeast in the fridge

keep them sealed, cool, and dry and i'm sure they will be good to go. If you are that worried you could just replace those specialty grains. You are not planning on saving the extract until then are you?

better yet, brew it age them until then :)

Actually, that is a better idea, forgot about the extract not lasting that long! I say brew it too :)
