Ok guys, I was cleaning my big chest freezer and found 4 oz each of Citra, Summit, and willamet still vacuum sealed. They're each over 2 years old, but the vacuum seal is still good on all of them. Do you guys think they'll still be good to brew with? I've never kept hops for more than a year, so I have no idea what to expect, or whether they'll be ok to use. They're in pint jars that I sealed myself. Thanks!

I have hops that I bought when Cosby was still an all-American family man and still as fresh as the day I used them last.

As long as they are suck-n-sealed in the freezer, I'm not sure there is a time limit.

That's what I was hoping to hear. I already had plans to buy more Citra and Willamette anyway, but it's nice to know that they aren't going to have to be pitched. Maybe I'll do another zombie dust clone to finish off the old citra.....

All hops decline after picking, the only question is the rate at which they go. Vacuum packed in a freezer you're looking at a half-life of maybe 6-7 years, compared to 5 months for some varieties at room temperature exposed to air.
