I want to tap my keg of Irish Red tonight but know that it will take quite some time to finish the whole 5 gallon keg. Will it be a problem to leave the co2 charger on the keg for, say, a week? 2 weeks?

It would be the same as keeping it on a big bottle. Just change out the cartridge if/when needed.

*edit* I don't know what the output pressure is on those things. I dno't personally have one. This would be the only concern. It couldn't be too high right or else it would spew the beer out at dispensing.

As long as your tank doesn't have a leak....indefinitely. Of course, as you drink you'll have to replace the bottles. You could actually run a keggerator with the things....just wouldn't be cost effective.

I used one at a party last summer and had to use about 3 cartridges over 2 kegs...kindofa PITA..glad I have a jockey box set up coming so will not have to worry about that anymore
