I was doing a little freezer maintenance and decided I'd better get a handle on the exacts of my hops stores.

I've been stocking up here and there as I find inventory and decent prices...and with all the low IBU, low ABV lawnmower beers I've been brewing, my high alpha's and American hops inventory have held up pretty well:

Amarillo - 7.0
Cascade - 12.0
Centennial - 17.0
Crystal - 6.0
EKG - 9.0
Fuggles - 2.0
Galena - 10.0
Hallertau - 4.5
Mt Hood - 1.0
Northern Brewer - 4.0
Nugget - 7.5
Perle - 3.0
Phoenix - 6.5
Sterling - 7.5
Summit - 8.0
Willamette - 8.0
Glacier - 10.0
Tettnang - 9.5

Just a bit over 8 pounds worth. Guess they kinda snuck up on me... :D

How's about you's...Will you survive the hops shortage?

Just stopped at two Liquor Barn locations and found that they'd just restocked... just about everything you'd want, at between $2.49 and $3.79 / oz. I picked up a few ounces of Cascades, EK Goldings, and Willamette. Should last me through two batches or so. :)

Braggart!!! :D

I probably should do this myself. I have bunch, but not that much. I have several partial opened oz baggies. Plus a stock of misc hops that I just grabbed to have on hand.

I only have a couple lbs of assorted varieties, certainly may not be enough, but who knows.

Oh well, no 6oz/5gal batches for now.:(

Hey Bier, if you need help using those Cascade or Centenials up, just let me know!

Hmm, let's see...
1 oz. Czech Saaz
2 oz. Mt Hood
2 oz. Willamette
2 oz. US Perle
1 oz. US Cluster
2 oz. UK Challenger
3 oz. Slovenian Styrian Goldings
2 oz. German Tettnang
2 oz. Cascade
____________
17 oz. or 1lb 1oz.

I hope posting this in public doesn't make me a target for hop burglary...

I'm doing pretty well. I'm too lazy to take an inventory right now (althought I do need to), but I've got plenty left. I've bougt a few varieties here and there over the past few months but I've mostly been using stock that I built up before prices went crazy.

I know that right now I have the following varieties:

Warrior
Simcoe
Columbus
Amarillo
Hallertaur
Tettnanger
Glacier
EKG
Fuggles
Saaz
Chinook
Cascade
Wilamette
Centennial

I'm OK for now.

I might have a pound total, but quite a bit of variety. Usually I buy hops by recipe, so if I have leftovers of the same variety from a previous batch they end up adding to the inventory.

i recounted them yesterday, a few pounds worth, but left the list at my friends pad.

let's just say i have plenty of my most important: tett, EKG, fuggle, saaz, hallertau

but i'm almost out of northern brewer!!!!! noooeess!!!!!!!!!

Argintine Cascade 5.0oz
Cascade Leaf 5.0oz
Cascade Pellet 2.0oz
Cluster Pellet 2.5oz
Columbus Pellet 3.0oz
Fuggle Leaf 4.0oz
Galena Pellet 9.5oz
EKG Pellet 6.0oz
US Goldings Leaf 8.0oz
Hallertau Leaf 2.0oz
Tett Pellet 7.0oz
Willamette Leaf 9.0oz

I'm good for awhile.

I was just at the brewery and we have:

12.5 lbs Northern Brewer

38 lbs spalter select

55 lbs tettenanger

80 lbs Hallertau Mittlefruh

oh, you meant in fridge at home ;)

Three ounces of pellet Progress (nobody else listed Progress. :( )

An ounce of Willamette pellets. An ounce or so of Tett pellets, 4 ounces of Phoenix pellet.

A pound of Cascade, Fuggle and EKG in leaf form.

I can't beleive you americans are still paying out the arse for hops. Even in little old New Zealand imported Cascades are $38.00/kg or $1.05/oz and New Zealand grown hops are as low as $21.50 per kg. Can't imagine how much your pale ales are costing

Got an email today from Williams brewing saying that they have there new supply of pellet hops, and there are no more limits. 2oz packs go for $4-5

Fuggle 36oz
Willamette 24oz
Kent Golding 12oz
Simcoe 12oz
Cascade 4oz
Mt. Hood 2oz
Amarillo 6oz
Tradition 3oz
Perle 2oz
Saaz 1oz
Styrian Golding 3oz
Galena 1oz

about 16oz of an unknown hallertau variety grown by a neighbor last year about 3%
4 centennial
4 chinook
5 cascade
3 santiam
2 saaz
4 fuggles
2 galena
1 ekg
2 bullion
1 sorachi ace

right now, I'm estimating this should be good to get me through till december or january, as i will put my brewing on hiatus throughout the month of november.

I was in pretty good shape to begin with, but I just picked up 1# each of Amarillo, EKG and Galena for $2/oz. :rockin:

Cascade 8oz
Centennial 7oz
Magnum 6oz
EKG 15oz
Hallertau 12oz
Fuggle 15oz
Galena 2oz
= 65oz or 4.06lb

Man, I've got a lot of EKG and Fuggles....

Time to do an inventory before the new harvest comes in.
I know I have a decent supply of hops as I stocked up last fall when first reports of the shortage was coming in (Thanks HBT). However I'm not sure what I have left.

I am not worried about running short of hops because the hops I planted last year are producing a great crop this summer. I should have a good supply of Cascades, Centennial and Chinook and a modest supply of Willamette after the harvest.

Craig

Just did an inventory:

Hop Name Quantity (oz)
Tettnang 12
Willamette 12
Cascade 16
Northern Brewer 4
Chinook 9
Saaz 7
Hallertauer 5
Spalt Select 2

Total ounces 67
Total lbs 4.19

These are all 5 year old full flower, and stored in the freezer. They still smell fresh and look good. Last week we upped the additions by ~ 50% to make up for any lost IBU's, but I think thats too much. The cooled wort smelled and tasted really hoppy, as did the transfer to secondary. So this week we didn't adjust upwards. We will know in a couple of weeks

just bought a pound each of styrian goldings and northern brewer...that should last a few weeks :D

reorganized my hops and i'm running low on fuggle and EKG. i think the LHBS has some so i'll have to stop by this week.
