Does anyone have an idea how small hop pellets are? I picked up some mesh for a kettle screen but I'm concerned it is a bit to large. The openings are .03" I believe, should be small enough to filter coffee grounds.
How fine are hop pellets

hop pellets get pretty fine once they have been boiled. personally, I put mine in some panty hose to make it easier to go from the brew pot to the fermenter.
it sounds like the screen you are using wil let some sediment thru, but I wouldn worry about it as long as you are using a secondary fermenter

My concern was mostly for the plate chiller, I think I'll just use a hop back any time I use pellets.
