I use a bottling wand which leaves a certain amount of headspace equal to the volume displaced by the wand inside the bottle during filling. Most of the longnecks I fill will have one and one-half inch of headspace. Sierra Nevada bottles being shorter and fatter will have one inch of headspace.
The spring tip wand saves a lot of time.

I got wand so I fill up top and when remove wand that leaves enough space.i do next brew I bottle already gave about inch space

I can't imagine bottling without a bottle wand of some type. I find the non spring loaded ones even faster though. Another nice upgrade if you bottle a lot is 1/2 spigot and 1/2 inch wand, the kind with the tip like a wort thieve.

The only down side is these tips always leak a bit either on m wine thieve or bottling wand. But for the convenience are worth it.

I've never seen one of those ? Could you link to one ? Might be a nice upgrade to add to the ever growing list of wants....

Not that different from a beer thief ... it is basically a stiff tube with a valve at the bottom. When it presses against the bottom of the bottle you want to fill with beer it releases beer ... when you lift it up,the valve closes and flow stops. I'm guessing you probably have one, and just call it something else ..... if not .. you need one ...

The best upgrade or first priority is to 1/2 spout, then to a springless tip.

Find a place that carries both. I've had both a long time so guess I probably ordered it from Williams brewing when they were one of the few options,

Yep - I have one, just always called it something different. Thought there might be a different or better version out there - always on the hunt for new toys :D
