I am just curious is everything is typically run on trust where one person receives the money and then sends the item or what. I have a couple things I could sell on here but don't know how it works exactly.

You can also look back at whether the buyer/seller have previous transactions in this room. The search is at the top under thread tools. You can search for the seller's name. If someone got screwed, they would have probably posted it somewhere in the room. I'm often in this room, though, and I've rarely seen that happen.

I've sold quite a few items on here and have not had one bad transaction. Describe your item well, post pictures and use some common sense in regards to the person buying from you and you should be fine.

I've found homebrewers and beer traders in general to be a pretty honest bunch of people. Pretty much the selling on here runs on trust and a shared sense of love for homebrew. Plus if somebody really wants to run a scam they're probably going to use Craigslist, not homebrewtalk.com.

HBT Should set up a member feedback page or section. A lot of car forums I'm on do that and its very helpful and gives you a sense of security when buying items from forums.
