Im very new to kegging and on my third try it seems as if the keg I bought has a leak somewhere. I racked to the keg and put it on 30 psi of a few minutes. purged the air then repeated. I left town for a week and when I got back there was no pressure. The beer doesn't smell bad or anything but I feel like something needs to be done stat. so I put more gas in it and sprayed soapy water on it and nothing is showing leaks. The one that happens is when I pull the pressure valve on the keg I can see the soapy water bubble on that gas post. but I can actually move the middle part around a little bit to make it stop. This suggests to me that the gaskets/seals are worn and could use a replacement. But, I looked at it and before I go messing with it I wanted to ask here first. There is a whole batch inside that I don;t want to throw out. Can I still change the seals if there is beer inside? if, so are there any suggestions?
Is it possible that the beer absorbed all the gas over the week and thats why there was no keg pressure?
