Hello, as per the recipe I need to keep my beer in a secondary fermenter at 50F. I have no fridge or a way to get my room to that temp. Can I put the fermenter in a large enough bucket and try to reach 50 F using water and ice? Obviously i d have to monitor it constantly, but I am really out ideas.
Can any one advice or suggest another idea?
Much appreciated.

That’s probably your best bet. It will help if you have a very cool room to place it in. One trick is to use a few soda bottles filled with water, and keep a couple in your freezer while the other ones sit in the water baths.

If you need just a few degrees, you can do the "swamp cooler" route. Get a good size tote that your fermenter will fit in and fill 1/3 with cold water, dip towels in water and drape around fermenter letting towels hang into water. Put a box fan in front of it on low to med. The evaporation effect will cool every thing down
