Hello, as per the recipe I need to move my beer to a secondary fermenter and keep it there for 4 weeks at 50 F. The problem is I do not have a fridge or a way to get my room to that temp.
Could I put the fermenter in a big enough bucket and try to reach 50 F using water and ice? Obviously i ll have to constantly monitor it, but I am really out of ideas.
Does any one have any suggestions?
Thanks a lot

You might be able to do it with a swamp cooler, especially if you used a well insulated cooler. But I would imagine it would take a lot of ice and changing it out every couple of hours round the clock for 4 weeks.

There is a product that goes in the neck of a carboy that will hold your beer at lager temperatures. I forget what it is called. But, it is probably just as expensive as a refrigerator and temperature controller.

I actually have a swamp cooler, I may five it a shot!
Thanks.
