Attempted my first partial grain brew today. Got everything set. Had my walk through all prepped. The mash was fine, I think (2 kg of grain in about 8 litres of water). Plus the sparge water pot of about 5 litres. Wort was nice and sweet. Into the boil pot. And it's only then I discover my insipid stove top can't actually bring my wort to a full boil. For the hour I had it going it sat about 92c. Icarried on, and still hopped as per the recipe. And i'll still ferment and bottle. But does anyone know what the consequences are of not reaching a full rolling boil? I got very close according to the thermometer, but it never quite got there. Thoughts?

I had one batch similar - it only reached a slight boil....just a little rolling action, but not a full rolling boil. It turned out fine.

I had the same problem with my first couple of batches. While not excellent, they were drinkable. My solution was to insulate my kettle and build a heat stick. Really helped getting a rolling boil. Since I use a gas stove top, the insulation had to be fire proof. Best of luck.
