It's an Oatmeal Stout sitting at around 6%. Here's what my fridge looks like right now.

From your sig... does it mean that you had it in the primary for 8 day, secondary for 11 days, and bottle for 10 days.. ??

You're braver than I am. I tasted my first batch all by myself first. I'd have worried that I'd invite all my friends over and then look the fool when they all spit my beer out because I'd screwed it up. Wouldn't have happened since my first batch was alright, but still... I'd have wanted to taste it alone first. :mug: good luck!

Trust me, I tasted it first. It's been hard not drinking it for the past few weeks. The first batch actually came out better than the second.

looks good!
Although I would agree with ChshreCat, I tasted my brew before I was willing to share. Today was 1 day after the 3 week bottle date of my first brew, an english brown ale and I was happy to find a "beer connisour" in my neck of the woods to give me a "God's honest" opinion of my brew. you are a more brave man than I to host a party for it, but I wish you nothing less than the best of luck with a (what seems to be) wonderful brew!

Thanks a lot! It definitely is a wonderful brew. I actually regressed from first batch to second batch.

did you try your chile beer yet? howd it turn out?

It's got a very strong Habanero flavor and a little bit of a kick. It's good, but definitely more of a beer you'd have with dinner than a beer you'd have as a session beer. I tasted it at bottling time though and it has only been bottled for 1 week. We'll see what a couple of weeks in the bottle does for it.

did you end up putting the peppers in the secondary or during boil?

I'm going to put the peppers in the bottles and see how that goes.. I was thinking of only putting about 1/8 to 1/4 of a habanero pepper with no insides to each bottle.

I put one habanero and two jalapenos in secondary. Both of them were halved and seared briefly in olive oil.

ooo.. maybe i'll only put a tiny slice of habanero per bottle if yer getting good flavor using one whole on a five gallon batch... i dont want liquid fire.. lol

Thanks for the link. Everyone loved the beer though. A couple of people were requesting to drink my beer over the beer they brought!
