Hey I’m doing the festival Pride Of London Porter beer kit and I put the hops in a bit too early.
Will this effect the beer quality?
ive Decided to leave it in primary fermentation for 2-3 weeks whereas the kit said 10 days.
I put the hops in on the 6th day, is this ok?
also I’m bottling straight from the tap from my fermentation bucket, is that ok to do ?

I've done dry hops too early twice, and both times I did not like the taste. At all. But others didn't think it was bad. So you'll just have to wait and see what you think. OR, it could have been done fermenting after 6 days anyway.

As for bottling straight from the tap. I would not do that. Some tubing and a bottling wand is cheap, and will make botting easier. More importantly, you really risk oxidation by not using a wand (i.e., filling the bottle from the bottom).
 
Thank you for that. It does look like it’s stopping but I wanna leave it as long as possible.
as for bottling, I have the bottling wand but I was going to do it from the tap? Is that ok do to or should I go in at the top ?
 
I've left dry hops in for 2 weeks before with no issues. Actually it used to the standard time 20 years ago. Some people perceive grassy flavors, I never have; probably one of those taste threshold things that some people are more sensitive to. I usually go about 5 or 6 days now, as studies have shown very little (if any) benefit from being left longer.

If you bottle straight from the fermenter, you have 2 issues. 1) Any hops that have not settled will end up in the bottles (and probably some that have settled will too) and 2) If you add the priming sugar to the fermenter and gently stir you will disturb some of the hops and get them in the bottles. I assume you are adding sugar to each bottle (not generally recommended, but works).

Hop particles in the bottle can cause gushers as the hops provide nucleation points for the CO2 to come out of solution.

I'm not saying you can't do what you plan, but if it were me, I would rack to another container and put a mesh screen on the inlet of the racking cane (Paint straining bag) to prevent hops from getting to the bottling bucket. Obviously have all the priming sugar in the bottling bucket (boiled in water), and then bottle from the bottling bucket.

I am quite new to this and this is my 3rd brew.
I need to invest in another bucket first.
as long as it’s possible this time round and it won’t ruin the beer I’m happy.
the last two were an utter disaster but this one seems to be going very well.
I will remember that for next time tho.
I did have two buckets but unfortunately one broke a few days ago.
I just want it to be drinkable and enjoyable this time round.
the next time will be perfection 😊
 
Oh and yes I’m adding sugar to each bottle.
i believe 1 1/2 tsp per 500ml
Or that’s what I was told would be the right amount?
ive seen less and Ive seen more but for a porter I would assume less ??
gotta admit it’s very confusing when you first get in to it 😂
I hope I get the hang of it 4th time round haha
 
Dry hops after 4 days is all you need. I have found you can leave them there for a couple of weeks and they don't impart different flavors much. I think you will be fine.
