I'm in the midst of brewing my first batch! I'm attempting Brewer's Best Milk Stout and I'm at the hop addition stage. The recipe the milk stout kit comes with says to sprinkle the hops in, however I have a nylon mesh bag from my brewing equipment set (more beer #1) that can be used to encapsulate the hops and prevent sludge and whatnot from getting into the wort. I used the bag because I didn't want to deal with a strainer while transferring the wort from the brewing pot to the fermenter. I have read that the bag can inhibit some of the hop characteristic from getting into the beer. Should I let it boil a little longer than the suggested 50 minutes to counteract this effect or does it not matter too much?
Thanks!

Doesn't matter much with a malty stout. I only use bags when I dryhop. But I do strain my wort before it goes into the fermenter using a 5 gallon paint strainer bag over my primary bucket
