Hop rhizome HPM

I'm planning to start a hop garden this spring. I'm fairly new to home brewing. I started April 2011. Until now I had never heard of HPM. What are the chances of buying rhizomes that are infected? Should a rhizome purchase be limited to a region or state? Any thoughts or suggestions will be appreciated.

If you buy from a reputable dealer, they will self regulate. I bought once from a middle man and I felt my plants were weak low producers.

I'm a fan of freshops and thymegarden. If HPM is an issue, they will not let the rhizome leave thier grounds.

Buy from a producer, because it's all over the US now. Retrofit's recommendations are good. Freshops page on HPM. Dave will burn a field if it is infected.

Echo Retrofit and David42 - It is more important than ever to buy stock from sources with phytosanitary certification! We don't want large commercial interests pushing for government regulations that will basically prohibit the growing of hops by home brewers.
