hop question

I posted this over at the recipe threads..........figured I might get a better reply rate posting in the beginners section


i brewed an ipa from brewers best and it used two types of hops....3 oz for bittering and 1 oz for flavoring.............the recipe/direction i kept do not indicate what kind of hops were used and i want to make this again...........does anyone know the type of hops used for the brewers best ipa or does it really matter that much i am sure i could find plenty of suggestions on here if i spend some time digging

It only matters if you want to make the same beer. If you'd like to make a different IPA, you can switch the hops. I've never tried the kit though, so I can't help you on what they were.

Bittering hops don't matter quite so much. Comparing your 3 oz. kit to the link above, it's obvious the the kit varies. Most likely the finish hops were still Cascades.
