HawDU folks,

I used hop pellets in the muslin bag during the extract boil. When chilled wort comes to fermenter, I noticed there are a lot of greenish hop residue at the bottom of my pot.

I just wondered should I put that residue into fermenter as well? or should I just dump it?
Are there any benefits if it goes in FV for DIPA? And what about the others?

The hops have served their purpose. Leave the debris out of the fermentor if you can. Will not be a problem if you dump it in the fermentor either.

Harvesting yeast is easier without the hop debris.

I don't use muslin bags with pellets..I just toss them in the kettle. They break apart anyway and settle during the cold break. I try and leave as much behind as possible when transferring to primary. It won't hurt if you get it in the primary..it'll settle with the trub and yeast.
