Hi,

I would like to convert an AG recipe to PM and I have the grains/extract figured out, but I can't find any information on the amount of hops required. I know that you need more when converting to extract I assume the same goes for PM. The recipe I'm trying to convert requires .35oz for bittering hops and 1 oz for aroma. I'm using 6.5lbs of base malt/specialty/adjunct in this brew and 3lbs of DME. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I didn't know you needed to do any conversion of the hops when changing a recipe from grain to extract. I was always told to just change the grains over & use the recipe as-is.

So, the only reason I would change the hop part of the recipe would be if the OG or Malt percentages/makeup changed a lot. If the PM recipe is very similar to the AG, I'd use the same exact hop schedule. Now, some recipes are impossible to convert to AG, so you have to make a lot of changes just to come close to the same style.

I'd say use the original schedule.
