As an alternative in an IPA...

What would be the result if I threw pellet hops in a hop bag into my primary?

Could you just throw the hop bag from your boil into the primary and get a positive result.

Are you just re-using the bag; i.e. emptying out the spent hops and reloading? You wouldn't want to use the spent hops from the boil as well. Also, it's best to dry-hop in a secondary, unless of course you don't use a secondary. If no secondary, don't dry-hop until after the ferment is complete. It's all about the aroma when you dry-hop. Probably best to use a new bag personally because of all the sweet wort that is on the bag making it a magnet for infection.

I don't quite understand. Are you talking about using already spent hops from the boil or rebagging fresh hops? You can dry hop in primary but do it after the greatest amount of fermentation has happened.
