I am brewing tasty mcdole's janets brown ale this weekend. It calls for northern brewer to bitter and at 15 mins. I don't have any northern brewer handy. I plan to bitter with something neutral like magnum. Not sure what to substitute at 15 mins. I've got willamette , simcoe, citra, and fuggles. I'd prefer to use something I own since I have a freezer full of hops.

You could do a little Simcoe at 15, I'd watch the amount though, maybe 1/2oz in 5gall

Thanks for the replys. I just listened to the American Brown episode of Brewing to Style (or whatever it's called). Toward the end of the show, a listener asks about hop in Janets Brown. Tasty suggests a nuetral bittering hop and then american hops like citra, simcoe, cascade for flavor/aroma. It sounds like this is a good recipe to experiment a little.

I'll probably bitter with horizon and use a combo of cascade/simcoe/citra for the 15 and FO additions.
