I've lived in this state my whole life. When I travel it's funny things that I do miss.

When you drive through a small town in Wyoming (and they're all small) people wave as they drive by. They don't know you, you don't know them, but we all wave for some reason. I miss that when I travel.

It also throws me off when I visit other states and towns are close together. Around here, you have to travel at least 30 miles between towns. And usually pushing 100 or more between significant towns.

I would miss these things if I moved. Sorry for the unhelpful post, but this is the drunken ramblings area.

I know how you feel. I since 2003 I have deployed to Iraq twice, Haiti, Honduras, and now Afghanistan. I am nearing the end of my career and can't wait to live somewhere longer than 18 months. I wish I could say it gets easier, for me it really doesn't. I just look forward to the "next chapter" and suck up the current situation.

Hope that helps,

Have to commiserate. Anchor bar wings, beef on weck, Buffalo pizza....

Props for leaving the disfunctional weird-ass area, but you will never forget the food. Either learn to make it yourself or have someone mail it to you.

I grew up and lived in NYC for most of my life. I moved to Colorado 12 years ago and still love it. I miss many things about NYC but how can you argue against 300+ days of sunshine
