It's pretty simple...BMC dollars rule alot of what we see and anything "alchohol" is considered too "controversial" to air as it's own program even though it's two thousand and freakin twelve and not the middle ages..
To look around and see what we have become in the last 30 years is so frightening....

It was covered last March/April in the beer trades, most back to some comments made by Sam in the Delaware Business Journal and Bourdain's tweets. But let's think about this. What would Bourdain have to gain to have made it up? Discovery made a comment about it not being well recieved yet the numbers were as good as many Discovery programs which stick around. And it did this with being moved around the schedule into three different nights across the 6 episode run. You can move a show for a few reasons, to find an audience or loose an audience are a couple of them. Blue Moon was an advertiser for the series. Many have pointed to InBev/Bud being the Large Brewery as they had announced they were going to buy "Goose Island Beer Company" around this time. Dogfish Head has grown considerably over the time since this aired… partly because of the show but mostly because they do a nice job with their beers. I'm close enough to be there every month or so. It's a nice operation run by nice people.

'Cuz Anthony Bourdain said so.

That makes sense, I remember an episode of Brewmasters (or was it from 'Beer Wars'?) where Sam talked about how one of the BMCers slapped them with a lawsuit or a cease and desist or something for their use of 'Punkin' in their Pumpkin beer.

That was from Beer Wars and it was AB. Incidentally AB was the only major that refused to be interviewed in Beer Wars. AB also sent a cease and desist for DFH Chicory Stout.
