Homebrew Competition Schedule - New England Area

So, after ten years of brewing, I think I'm ready to see how good my beer actually is, in other people's eyes, or mouths. Does a regional/national calendar exist for homebrew competitons?

Also, as a first-timer, does anyone have any advice to offer? When it comes to beer, I'm not a very competitive person, but some relative early success would be nice! Thanks all.

There is one next weekend in Connecticut. Drop off deadline was this past Saturday though.
