So I'm putting my kegerator back together and one of the main pieces of the puzzle was the replacement line. I went to the home brew shop and picked up some new vinyl beer line today and thought all was well. However, tonight when I was going to hook everything up, I find the ID of the line is too big... it's 5/16 not 3/16.

So now I need new hose... problem is that the HB store isn't open on Sundays and I can't get to them during the week so if I can't get the right size tubing at a home store (like lowes or whatever) I'll have to wait until saturday to tap this ket I have sitting in the fridge... and I REALLY want to tap it. LOL

So, is the vinyl tubing from lowes safe to use for beer line? Even if it's just for a short time? I can always swap it out next weekend. Just want to get this beer flowing!!

Thanks for the info!

I don't think it will kill you within a week. Some people, myself included would taste the Vinyl and therefore I'd not bother. Others have no problem and don't notice it, if you can find 3/16 it should be pretty cheap.
