My Hillbilly HERMS

Next upgrade is a 26gal direct fire SS mashtun, which will result in the whole stand being rebuilt.
I also want to run all 3 burners off 1 propane tank. Anyone know where to buy propane fittings? I can get the hardpipe from HomeDepot but they only sell natural gas fittings, not propane.

My morebeer sparge arm modified for a cooler. I had a lot of teak laying around so that's the material.

And my grain mill:

Motorized JSP Malt Mill and a lot of woodburning.

That sight looks familiar, raspberries or black berries? I am going to guess raspberries because they are white.

How much rhubarb did you use? I've found more than 1/2lb/gal overwhelming. It gives the beer a savory quality.

Noticed I was missing my temps by just a few degrees. I had boil-calibrated the dials before, but did it the dumb way and steamed the **** out of my fingers. Then I had this idea while in my shop:

Notice the boil over scorches from the starter. Makes my wife so happy.

Then I decided to check my Brewer's Digital Controller II

IMG_20140419_094759.jpg

Digital is 7F shy of 212. Anyone expierece this? I have 2 other controllers to check but is there anyway to adjust it other than simply add 7F to the setting?

A few items from my birthday yesterday. First off, amazing homebrew proper glassware haul:

Second, did 10 gallons of a lambic-inspired brew, which will appropriately be titled "Lombic," as I live in Lombard, IL. 60% pilsner and 40% wheat, 5oz of aged hops. Mashed at 158 F and boiled for 90 minutes. Left 5 gallons out in in an old dog cage (to prevent raccoons and other critters from investigating) with a tarp on top (was supposed to rain) underneath a tree in bloom (unfortunately haven't planted fruit trees at our new place yet):

I'm going to let one ferment completely spontaneously, though the other I'm also going to add the dregs from the entire Armand'4 series, as I don't want to end up with 10 gallons of unpalatable liquid if my attempts totally fail.

This is my pale ale exclusively hopped with galaxy. As you can see it's slightly undercarb'd but still has enough carbonation to deliver a nice bite. I like to give all my beers names so this one is called Hitch Hikers Guide

What are your impressions so far on the beer with only Galaxy?

I really liked it! It may be a little scalding, but the citrus flavor is outrageous. My hop additions were as follow:

60: 1 oz
10: 1 oz
05: 1 oz
FO: 1 oz

Dry hopped 7 days: 2 oz
