Home Brewer TV this week, we jump back into yeast and find out about their numbers and what we need for a good fermentation. I found two lagers to taste in the Tasting Room for you. Lagers are hard to find here in Northern Nevada.

Give me a shout and let me know what you think!

I really dig your show. Lots of good info. Not to mention how excited you get just talking about home brewing. If my summer pale ale turns out as good as it looks like it will,I'll send you one.

I would love to sample some of your beers!!!

I love home brewing and sharing that passion. Glad you are enjoying the show!

Hi Gary, so exactly what is inoculation rate? Also, how did you arrive at 18 degrees Plato for 1.072 SG?

This is the first episode I've seen, and have found a new show to watch on my phone during my lunch hour. Thx Gary!

Hi Gary, so exactly what is inoculation rate? Also, how did you arrive at 18 degrees Plato for 1.072 SG?

Inoculation rate is simply pitching rate or amount of yeast cells added to quantity of wort.

One degree of Plato = 1.004 specific gravity. So multiplying 18 X .004 = .072, therefor 18 degrees of Plato = 1.072 specific gravity.

Hope this helps...

Really love your show man. It has re-sparked my passion for brewing. When I see the joy with which you sample the homebrews it always makes me thirsty.

Unfortunatly I'm in south east asia at the moment with very little bandwidth but I'm looking forward to catching up on my missed episodes when I return!

Nickharbour, I am thrilled to have re-sparked your passion for brewing!!

Cinderbike, a care package would be great and very kind of you. Perhaps we could meet at one of the local microbreweries and have a beer or two together!!

Gary

Sure, I'll probably be up there this summer and I've been wanting to try Buckbean.

Then lets plan on checking out Buckbean and having a couple of their brews.
